I had the pleasure of photographing the union of Kobie & Ashlye WIlerson 9.28.2012. Exactly one year later I was able to capture them celebrate their 1 year anniversary. And what exciting news did they have…Baby WIlkerson!!! Ashlye, with her creative side planned and took part in a recent new trend…A Gender Reveal Party. Team Pink for a girl, and Team Purple for a boy, guests wore their colors to show their supported gender. Rarely do I photograph parties. If I do, they have to be upscale, with the dress code enforced and in nice areas with ample parking, undercover and visible security, and the host and I must have communicated extensively before. Such a party happened for the University of South Carolina – Columbia to celebrate it’s homecoming. The venue was the Capital City Club in Downtown, Columbia and it was hosted by the Black Alumni Council with Justin Williams. The atmosphere was nice, the gusts dressed well, and the Mayor, Steve Benjamin and the USC mascot, Cocky made an appearance.
