So thankful for all the things in 2016, and looking forward to 2017. The new year started with momentum already from the last part of 2016. Newer ideas, concepts and plans on execution. And a renewed opportunity with King Entertainment to photograph some parts of #GorgeousAtTheRitz. Charlotte, NC and King Entertainment are 1 of 2 only parties that I ever photograph. You have got to be upscale, safe and classy for my selective, mature and bourgeoisie team to participate. The Ritz-Carlton provided such an atmosphere and the Around The Block Photo-Booth rendered services for the New Year’s Party. Trying out some new things and setting the tone for 2017, we had a blast. All of the images can be found on our NEW WEBSITE under the Photo-Booth category. Take a look…
Shandelle Simmons!!! Dominikii Coleman!!! These two young woman have been the catalyst to Around The Block Photo – Booth for the last 2.5 years. Much of the improvements, concepts, equipment and success has been through some complicated and strange times. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I think our first adventure was in Charleston 2014 where I met my new favorite place to meet folk, leach on the internet, print and chill (Crown Royal Plaza). So as the team and everything grows, I had to ask to come together for a few pics and some fun times again at a reception. Ladies, thanks for all you’ve done. For all your patience, comments, suggestions and most of all for your time. I hope I have been and to continue to be as much help and influence as you have to me. Look at some of the Behind-The-Scenes images from that night…

Around The Block Photo-Booth was happy to serve Mia & Marshall Weaver at their wedding unity. The ceremony was at Trinity Methodist Church in Bennettsville, SC and the reception at the Florence Civic Center. We always have fun at events, but this one was special. We had all the space we wanted in our own lil section. Easy access to the loading area and plenty of room for guests. All of these images can be downloaded by clicking this link. Celebrating the Union of Talisha & Dave Harrison, the Photo-Booth served the guests and bridal party during the reception. After a few changes in our set up, we were rolling in laughter and fun. Using the drapery at Grace Wedding & Event Center as a backdrop, we made the announcement that the Photo-Booth was now in operation and a line quickly formed. Thanks goes to Joie Harrison and Quiana Curenton for making the being on the team and making the Photo-Booth what it was. Couldn’t have done it without you two. My favorites of the night are below, and the downloadable and full image collection can be found by clicking here (Download Code of 1716).. This photo-booth was so fun, even the team got to enjoy it. Those images will be in a later post. Want an awesome, fun and energetic experience at your event? Contact us to make it happen. Take a Look…
The Photo-booth was blessed to serve Daniella & Ty at their May 9th, 2015 wedding. Held at the beautiful Wildewood Country Club in Northeast, Columbia, the rain came, went, came again and left once for all for a very nice ceremony. During the cocktail hour and some of the reception, many of the guests came o be photographed in the Photo-Booth. Thank you Dominlkii Coleman of DC Photography for helping the photo-booth run smoothly. Take a look…
The Photo-booth was fortunate enough to capture the fun of Mr. & Mrs. Gary Bethea. The ceremony was at the First Baptist Church in downtown Columbia SC followed by a beautiful reception at the Capital Center, right in front of the SC State House. With an exciting Bridal party and the expertise of Ms. Dominikii Coleman and Ms. Alisha Henderson the Photo-Booth captured plenty of smiles, props and fun. Take a look.
April is a good month. My Birthday on the 15th, Tax Day, warmer weather, pollen, and full of Spring weddings! On the 25th day of April, Around The Block Photography helped shoot Shayla & Gary’s wedding with J Pearson Photography. In Columbia’s First Baptist Church Downtown, we photographed the two in Holy Matrimony. I got to work with two videographers of Motion Captured Memories that I’ve worked with in the past, and an awesome day to shoot it was. The ladies looked very nice in their grey and peach colors, and the fellas dapper in their black and white. The reception was at the Capital Center Building and decorated beautifully by South Carolina Wedding Co. This was an interesting wedding and the Photo-Booth was a blast!. Take a look…

If you don’t know it by now, Ill tell you…I cater to members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, especially Mu Xi’s chapter at Winthrop University. Anything they want, they can have from me. When i first started my photography business, Bristal Cornelius was the treasurer or something of the chapter. She hired me for my first paying gig…The 30th Anniversary of the Mu Xi Chapter of AKA at McBryde Hall. Never will forget that. 5 Years later she married an Omega Man from Winthrop University, Quincy Adams. Congratulations to Bristal and Quincy who allowed me to serve them by offering photo-booth services to their wedding.
While being a second shooter for Fokas Photography (Dominic McKelvey), the reception was at the Columbia Convention Center, and decorated by the SC Wedding Co. Bristal’s & Quincy’s guests was an awesome group that embraced the photo-booth. Out of the 200+ images, here are some of the one’s I liked the most. Take a look…
