It’s always fun and exciting shooting weddings. That’s why i got into photography. But what’s hard sometimes is not sharing all the fun and good times capturing the bride-to-be until after the wedding. In March, Around The Block Photography had the honor of photographing Carleeta’s Bridal session at The Historic Siebel’s House in Columbia, SC. Her colors were every shade of blue and the session was totally enhanced through the talented and creative efforts of Debbie Williams and Blue Key Creations. Debbie did an amazing job of styling this session. From a custom bouquet, wine bottles, picture frames, jewelry, modern blue chair, formal dinner table setting and oval mirror, Blue Key Creations transformed an already nice venue into a beautifully styled location to compliment our elegant bride to be. Thank you Carleeta for an amazing session. You braved the cold took direction well and really photographed well. Thanks also to Dominikii Coleman of DC Photography for being a second shooter. The Photo-booth was blessed to serve Daniella & Ty at their May 9th, 2015 wedding. Held at the beautiful Wildewood Country Club in Northeast, Columbia, the rain came, went, came again and left once for all for a very nice ceremony. During the cocktail hour and some of the reception, many of the guests came o be photographed in the Photo-Booth. Thank you Dominlkii Coleman of DC Photography for helping the photo-booth run smoothly. Take a look…
April is a good month. My Birthday on the 15th, Tax Day, warmer weather, pollen, and full of Spring weddings! On the 25th day of April, Around The Block Photography helped shoot Shayla & Gary’s wedding with J Pearson Photography. In Columbia’s First Baptist Church Downtown, we photographed the two in Holy Matrimony. I got to work with two videographers of Motion Captured Memories that I’ve worked with in the past, and an awesome day to shoot it was. The ladies looked very nice in their grey and peach colors, and the fellas dapper in their black and white. The reception was at the Capital Center Building and decorated beautifully by South Carolina Wedding Co. This was an interesting wedding and the Photo-Booth was a blast!. Take a look…

While being a second shooter to one of the members on our Dream Team (FOKAS Photography) The Siebel’s House and Gardens in Downtown Columbia, SC was the location for Max & Nikesha. The bride, (Nikesha) looked absolutely stunning in her dress. Her bridal party was just as nice with their lavender and purple colors. The Groom (Max) was a decorated soldier with his matching groomsmen. Representing a vintage Pinterest quality décor, sliced oaks were used as centerpieces, two old doors connected by A-frames made the margarita tables, chicken wire and clothes pins made the RSVP table cards, and a bucket full of energy from the entire bridal party resulted in a totally enjoyable experience. Did I mention that the bride was from Winthrop University? Other than AKA’s, that’s the second entity I cater to. Take a look…
Down in Eastover, SC, I was honored to photograph Benjamin & Kerisa. A nice looking couple, nicely decorated church, beautiful reception and energetic bridal party was all in the mix for an awesome first wedding of the year. Thanks to Barthelomew of FOKAS Photography and Dominikii Coleman for being part of the team to capture the day. Full blog post coming soon. Until then, take a look…
A fellow Winthrop University scholar, Byron Reese and fiancee Mareisha Winters had their engagement session starting in Uptown, Charlotte, NC. Thank you Byron and Mareisha for and awesome engagement session. Thanks also to Dominikii Coleman for helping plan the creative elements of the session. Take a look…
If you don’t know it by now, Ill tell you…I cater to members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, especially Mu Xi’s chapter at Winthrop University. Anything they want, they can have from me. When i first started my photography business, Bristal Cornelius was the treasurer or something of the chapter. She hired me for my first paying gig…The 30th Anniversary of the Mu Xi Chapter of AKA at McBryde Hall. Never will forget that. 5 Years later she married an Omega Man from Winthrop University, Quincy Adams. Congratulations to Bristal and Quincy who allowed me to serve them by offering photo-booth services to their wedding.
While being a second shooter for Fokas Photography (Dominic McKelvey), the reception was at the Columbia Convention Center, and decorated by the SC Wedding Co. Bristal’s & Quincy’s guests was an awesome group that embraced the photo-booth. Out of the 200+ images, here are some of the one’s I liked the most. Take a look…
